Unexpected Company

Little Glimmers from the Farm

After lunch today, Lilah and I were enjoying a little playtime on the porch, tossing her ball and soaking up the afternoon.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something small and brown moving across the porch. At first, I thought it was just a dried leaf blowing in the breeze — until it hopped!

Our afternoon visitor was a tiny toad, making his way across the porch as though he had somewhere important to be.

It's these unexpected little encounters that make life on the farm so special. There's always something happening around us — birds visiting the feeders, butterflies drifting through the lavender, and apparently, tiny toads stopping by to say hello.

Sometimes the smallest moments bring the biggest smiles.
