Four Little Plants and a Whole Lot of Heat!
Little Glimmers from the Farm
Who knew four little cayenne pepper plants could produce so much?
Today I gathered the last of this year's cayenne peppers, and I have to say, these four little plants have been wonderfully productive! They've given us harvest after harvest throughout the growing season, and even now, in October, there was one more basket waiting.
But these peppers aren't headed for the kitchen table.
They're one of the botanicals I use to make our Figments Thermal Therapy Balm, a warming botanical balm created for massage and comforting those tired, overworked muscles.
I love that something growing right here on the farm can become part of something we make in the Figments workshop. There's a special satisfaction in knowing where an ingredient came from, watching it grow, and then putting it to good use.
And there's a little humor in it, too. Those four innocent-looking plants have been quietly growing the heat we'll be enjoying long after the garden has gone to sleep for winter!
Not bad for four little plants.
