How to Make Iced Tea:
Brew Method Iced Tea
Step 1: Boil water.
Bring filtered water to a boil, depending on the type of tea you're using. For black tea, use water just off the boil (around 200°F); for green or white tea, use slightly cooler water (about 175°F).
Step 2: Steep the tea.
Add 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf tea (or 1 tea bag) for each 8oz of water. Pour the hot water over the tea and let it steep according to the tea type—black tea should steep for 3-5 minutes, green tea for 2-3 minutes, and herbal teas for 5-7 minutes.
tep 3: Cool the tea.
Once steeped, remove the tea bags or strain the leaves and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
Step 4: Ice it.
Fill a glass or pitcher with ice, then pour the cooled tea over the ice. Add sweetener, fruit, or herbs if desired. Stir and enjoy!
Sun Tea
Step 1: Choose your container.
Use a large glass jar or pitcher, preferably clear, so the sun can do its work.
Step 2: Add tea bags and water.
Place 3-4 tea bags (depending on how strong you want your tea) into the jar, then fill it with cold water (about 1 quart).
Step 3: Let the sun work its magic.
set the jar outside in a sunny spot for 3-4 hours. The sun will gently brew the tea, creating a light and refreshing flavor.
Step 4: Strain and serve.
Once the tea has brewed, remove the tea bags and pour the tea over ice. Add any sweeteners or fruit for extra flavor.
Cold Brew Iced Tea
Step 1: Add tea and water.
add 1-2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea (or 1-2 tea bags) per 8oz of cold water to a pitcher or jar.
Step 2: Let it steep.
Place the pitcher in the fridge and let it steep for 6-12 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.
Step 3: Strain the tea.
After steeping, remove the tea bags or strain the tea leaves.
Step 4: Serve cold.
Pour the cold-brewed tea over ice and add any desired extras like mint, citrus slices, or berries for a refreshing touch.
